Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have stepped up preparations for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup after arriving in Haikou, China, for a series of international friendly matches.
The African champions are currently in full training as they intensify their build-up to the global tournament, which will be held in Berlin, Germany.
As part of their preparations, D’Tigress will take on China in a three-game FIBA-sanctioned friendly series.
The matches are scheduled for August 7, August 9 and August 12, providing the Nigerian side with valuable competitive action ahead of the World Cup.

The series is expected to help the coaching crew assess the team’s readiness, fine-tune tactics and strengthen player combinations before the championship begins.
