The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has expanded its security operations with the inauguration of a new operational outpost in Yelwa Quarters, Dala Local Government Area, aimed at improving security coverage and ensuring better protection of lives and property in the community.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, on behalf of the State Commandant, Mohammed Agalama.
Speaking during the inauguration, Agalama described the new facility as a key move to strengthen the command’s presence at the grassroots and enhance rapid response to security concerns.
He said the establishment of the outpost was a strategic step “towards bringing security services closer to the people of this area and ensuring prompt response to emerging security challenges.”
The commandant also stressed the need for stronger collaboration between residents and security agencies, encouraging members of the public to provide timely and credible intelligence that would help prevent crime and sustain peace across the area.

Agalama further appreciated the Dala Local Government Council and the Yelwa community for their cooperation and support, noting that maintaining security requires the collective efforts of government, security agencies, traditional institutions and citizens.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Dala Local Government Area, Suraj Imam, reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting the NSCDC and other security agencies working within the locality.
“The local government council will continue to support security agencies to enable them to discharge their duties effectively for the safety of our people,” he assured.
Imam described the commissioning of the outpost as a positive step that would strengthen security operations and boost residents’ confidence in the safety of their community.
The event attracted senior security officials, including the NSCDC Area ‘C’ Commander, Corps Divisional Officers from Gwale and Kano Municipal, the Dala Divisional Police Officer, personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service, members of the Neighbourhood Security Outfit and Hisbah, alongside representatives of various community-based security groups.
