The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has officially launched its 2026 recruitment drive, inviting qualified citizens from member states, including Nigeria, to apply for more than 30 positions across its various institutions.
A notice posted on the bloc’s website on Thursday explained that the recruitment aims to strengthen the execution of ECOWAS’ sectoral programmes across key institutions.
Interested candidates have been directed to submit applications via the official portal: https://www.ecowas.int/careers/.
Available positions in Nigeria cover a wide range of roles based in Abuja, including Office Aide, Programme Assistant, Nurse, Protocol Assistant, Documentation and Archives Assistant, Office Manager (Bilingual Secretary), Junior Accountant (Disbursements), Accountant, Legal Officer, Political Advisor, Principal Officer, Registrar, Head of Division (Library and Documentation), and Head of Hansard.
Positions outside Nigeria include Administrative and Finance Officer in Addis Ababa; PPO (Sports Policy) in Liberia; Principal Programme Officer (Water Supply and Sanitation) in Conakry; as well as various legal and administrative roles in Dakar, Senegal.
ECOWAS outlined age requirements for applicants depending on the category of the role: 35 years for General Services or Support positions (G1 to G7), 45 years for Professional roles (P1 to P7), and 50 years for Director-level positions (D1-D2).

The organisation also encouraged female candidates to apply but noted that only those shortlisted would be contacted.
Applicants are required to download and complete the official application form, attach a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter, and submit all documents via the designated email addresses before the deadline.
“All applications must include the application form, CV and a cover letter. Applications that do not contain all mandatory documents will not be considered,” the notice stated.
The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2026. ECOWAS reiterated that there are no fees for applying and warned applicants to be cautious of fraudulent solicitations requesting payment or personal financial information.
