EFCC Chairman Olukoyede Issues Strategic Christmas Call for National Integrity

In a seasonal address delivered in Abuja this Wednesday, the 24th of December, 2025, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, identified systemic graft as the primary veil hiding Nigeria’s inherent wealth. He argued that the nation’s inability to reach its peak is a direct result of persistent financial misconduct.

During his Christmas message to the public, the EFCC head framed the fight against dishonesty as both a civic duty and a path to spiritual fulfillment. He maintained that the progress of the federation is being stifled by a singular major hurdle: corruption.

According to Olukoyede, this barrier prevents the country from experiencing the level of success and “abundant life” that divine providence has designated for it. He urged a unified front, stating: “Let’s join hands together to make our nation greater, stronger and richer. Corruption is a drawback. We should confront it more fiercely to allow the abundant life of God manifest in our nation,” the EFCC chairman said.

As the country navigates a period marked by economic pressure and a dip in public confidence, Olukoyede suggested that the solution lies in a shift toward the foundational virtues of the season. He pointed to the attributes of Christ as a blueprint for national recovery, specifically highlighting, Love, To foster unity across the federation, Light, to expose and eliminate shady practices and Hope, to drive persistence in the face of hardship.

Regarding this spiritual necessity, he remarked: “Nigeria needs the refreshing hope, love and light which Christ brought to the entire world,” he said.

Beyond the moral imperative, the EFCC boss aligned the commission’s goals with the current administration’s policy direction. He advocated for full public backing of President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” initiative, viewing it as a catalyst for a national turnaround.

Olukoyede expressed optimism that this agenda could serve as a turning point for the country: “Let the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr President ignite fresh hopes of revival in us that Nigeria will rise again,” Olukoyede added.
