The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, on Monday expressed strong confidence in the re-election chances of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, declaring that the outcome of the June 20 governorship poll was already settled in favour of the incumbent.
Yilwatda made the assertion in Ado Ekiti at the official launch of the APC campaign for Oyebanji’s second term, where he urged supporters to remain committed ahead of the election.
“Take a bow because you have won already. The election is won ahead of time. We will win from ward to ward, village to village and local government to local government,” he said.
Oyebanji is seeking another term in office alongside his deputy, Monisade Afuye, under the APC platform.
The campaign flag-off attracted a large turnout of party leaders and governors, including Hope Uzodinma, Uba Sani, Monday Okpebholo, Sheriff Oborevwori, Usman Ododo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Mohammed Bago.
Former Ekiti State governors such as Niyi Adebayo, Ayodele Fayose, Segun Oni, and Kayode Fayemi were also present.
Speaking at the event, Uba Sani, who heads the APC governorship campaign council in the state, praised Oyebanji’s performance in office and called on residents to sustain the administration through their votes.

“This election is about consolidation. It is about building on foundations,” he said.
Similarly, the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodinma, described the gathering of governors as a show of unity within the party, assuring the electorate of continued progress under Oyebanji.
“A vote for Oyebanji is a vote for President Bola Tinubu,” he added.
In separate remarks, the former governors commended Oyebanji’s leadership and appealed to voters to return him for another term.
Also speaking, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, who leads the local campaign structure, said the governor had fostered unity across the state and pledged that the campaign would focus on issues.
Responding, Oyebanji reaffirmed his commitment to advancing development in the state, noting that the achievements recorded by his administration were made possible through the backing of President Bola Tinubu.
