Ekiti Gov Approves N596.6m Car, Housing Loans for Public School Staff

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has approved the disbursement of N596.6 million as car and housing loans to 807 teaching and non-teaching staff in public secondary schools across the state.

The approval was announced on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

The initiative, aimed at improving the welfare of education workers, forms part of the state government’s broader effort to enhance staff motivation, encourage productivity, and support personal development for public school employees.

According to the state Ministry of Education, the loans will be allocated based on applications from eligible staff, both teaching and non-teaching personnel qualifying for financial support to purchase vehicles or secure housing.

Governor Oyebanji reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education and welfare, stating that improving the living and working conditions of teachers and school staff is crucial to raising the quality of education in Ekiti State.

The disbursement is expected to commence immediately, with the first tranche of beneficiaries receiving their loans in the coming weeks.
