Enyimba FC has appealed to its supporters to remain steadfast as the club looks to turn around its difficult start to the season.
The appeal was contained in a message to the club’s fans signed by former Super Eagles captain and FIFA Ambassador, Kanu Nwankwo Tuesday.
The message acknowledged the team’s disappointing recent results but expressed confidence that the difficult period would not last.
“Hard times are not forever, they come and go,” the statement quoted a jingle by the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State as saying, adding that the line captured the essence of the club’s message to its supporters.
Enyimba also thanked its fans for their support during the team’s recent match against Inter Lagos, despite the result going against the Aba-based side.
“The times have not been most favourable. We understand the weight of the disappointing losses and we are determined to make things right,” the club said.
“In the rain, you came out to support us against Inter Lagos. Though it did not go our way, you supported us till the final minute and we do not take that support for granted.”
The club urged supporters to continue backing the team as it seeks to emerge from its current difficulties.

Enyimba’s next fixture is a home game against Sporting Lagos on Wednesday, with the club targeting its first victory of the season.
“A win can be a propeller,” the statement said, urging fans to “cheer us to victory as we kick off a resurgence.”
The club added, “We are used to victories and we are proud of that culture. Come, cheer us to victory as we kick off a resurgence. We will get it right.”
The statement ended with another call for patience and support, reiterating, “Indeed, hard times are not forever, they come and go.”
The message was signed, “Enyimba Enyi,” by Kanu Nwankwo, OON, FIFA Ambassador.
