The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday led a delegation of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors to meet with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The closed-door meeting is widely seen as a strategic step toward possible political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Among those in attendance were former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, and two members of the now-defunct G5 faction—former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom and former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

While the details of the talks remain undisclosed, insider sources hinted that discussions revolved around forging alliances and integrating the former PDP stalwarts into the evolving political structure under Tinubu’s administration.

The presence of Wike—a serving minister in an APC-led government and a former PDP powerbroker—further underscores speculation about shifting loyalties and the gradual reshaping of Nigeria’s political landscape.
