The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Federal Capital Territory Council, turned to spiritual fortification as it flagged off its 2025 Press Week with a service held on Sunday, the 20th of July, 2025, at World Harvest Ministries, Jikwoyi, Abuja.
At the event, the union acknowledged the increasing difficulties confronting media professionals and sought divine help to remain steadfast.
During the service, Archbishop Leonard Kawas delivered a sermon titled “Seeking Deliverance from the Athens Troubles of Life.” He called on attendees to remain spiritually conscious and bold in confronting life’s trials. Kawas told journalists and other worshippers they possess divine authority and should resist fear, deceitful messages, and evil schemes.
There is a battle at every level of life. You must know who you are and not be caught unawares. Christians have the power to bind and to lose, and must reject the devil at every turn,” the Archbishop said.
