The Federal Capital Territory Administration will on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, commence Computer-Based Test promotion examinations for more than 8,000 civil servants across 165 cadres within the FCTA and the Federal Capital Development Authority.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, who said the exercise will run for five days, ending on Saturday, November 29, 2025. The exams will hold at the National Open University Study Centre along Kubwa Road, Abuja.

Ezeh noted that the promotion exercise follows the approval of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, who authorised the swift conclusion of the 2024 promotion cycle as part of measures to boost staff motivation.

“He said the FCT Minister, as part of staff motivation, approved the request of the FCT Civil Service Commission to quickly conclude the 2024 promotion exercise of FCT/FCDA workers across all cadres,” the statement read.

The chairman added that the entire process will be conducted using the Computer-Based Test method, continuing the digital examination platform earlier introduced and approved by the minister.

The announcement comes three months after the release of results from the first-ever Computer-Based Promotion Examination conducted on August 12, 2025, during which 49 deputy directors were elevated to the rank of director.

According to the FCTA, the digital approach is aimed at deepening transparency, efficiency and accountability in the promotion system, while addressing outstanding promotion arrears from previous years.

The commission assured that arrangements have been finalised to ensure a smooth and fair process for all participating staff.
