FG Announces Two-month Closure of Lagos’ Independence Bridge from Tuesday

The Federal Government has announced the closure of the Marina-bound section of Independence Bridge in Lagos from Tuesday, April 1 to the end of May 2025 for maintenance and rehabilitation.

The Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mrs Olukorede Kesha, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, March 31.

She stated, “The closure will affect traffic traveling from Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku towards Marina, Eko Bridge, and Onikan by Zone 2.”

Kesha urged motorists to plan their routes accordingly and use alternative roads to ease congestion.

She apologised for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their patience as the government worked to improve road safety and stability.
