The Federal Government launched a N50 million Student Venture Capital Grant (S‑VCG) on December 8, 2025, in Abuja, to empower Nigeria’s tertiary students and promote innovation, research excellence, and entrepreneurship.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, described the programme as a “strategic investment in young innovators,” noting that it aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The grant provides equity-free funding of up to N50 million for student-led ventures, particularly those in STEMM fields; Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical Sciences.
Eligible applicants must be enrolled in accredited universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education.
