A commercial bus was on Monday gutted by fire on the Third Mainland Bridge near the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Waterfront, inward Iyana Oworo, triggering heavy traffic congestion on the busy route.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) disclosed the incident in a post on its official X handle, stating that fire service officials were immediately deployed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
According to the agency, the incident significantly disrupted vehicular movement, with traffic building up towards the Adekunle axis of the bridge.
“Motorists are advised to exercise patience on approach,” LASTMA said, noting that the congestion had extended as far back as Adekunle.
