A major fire outbreak swept through parts of Singa Market in Kano metropolis in the early hours of Monday, causing widespread destruction and throwing traders into panic.
The fire was said to have started at about 3:00 a.m., engulfing several sections of the busy market. Areas affected include Gidan Mazaf, Gidan Taki and Gidan Katsinawa along Bello Road.
Eyewitnesses told reporters that the inferno spread quickly through the market, consuming shops and goods before emergency services could fully contain the situation.

Large quantities of merchandise were destroyed in the blaze, resulting in significant losses for traders.
As of the time of this report, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have yet to confirm whether any casualties were recorded.
