Activities marking the sixth anniversary of First Daily Newspaper commenced on Monday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, with the organisation convening its First Daily National Dialogue on Security to address Nigeria’s growing security challenges.
The event, themed “Declaration of State of Emergency on Security: Matching Words with Action,” brings together policymakers, security experts, political leaders, academics, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to examine the country’s security situation and propose practical solutions.
The dialogue is expected to focus on the rising cases of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, communal violence and other forms of insecurity affecting different parts of the country, with participants exploring strategies for translating policy pronouncements into measurable actions.
The anniversary event also underscores First Daily’s commitment to promoting national conversations on issues of public interest through journalism and stakeholder engagement.
The venue, already set for the dialogue, features a specially designed conference stage branded with the newspaper’s identity and anniversary theme, ahead of the commencement of proceedings.

Participants and invited guests are expected to begin arriving before the opening session later in the morning.
