Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele has officially taken office as the Nigerian Army’s first Director of Public Relations.
She has promised to enhance the army’s image and strengthen national security through positive representation.
Anele is a member of direct course 15 and was a public relations officer in the office of the Chief of army staff.

She becomes the first woman to serve as the Director of Army Public Relations after serving as a Public Relations Officer at the office of the Chief of Army Staff
Until her recent appointment, she served at the Defence Headquarters Department of Civil-Military Relations.
The former Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, has been redeployed to the Nigerian Army Future Heritage Centre.
