The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Sunday marked Father’s Day 2026 with a tribute celebrating the love, resilience and sacrifices of fathers across Nigeria.
In her goodwill message, she highlighted the central role fathers play in shaping children’s character, confidence and future, noting that their guidance, protection and commitment remain key to building stable families and stronger communities.
She stated, “On this Father’s Day 2026, we celebrate the love, strength, and sacrifice of fathers across Nigeria and around the world.
“Fathers play a vital role in shaping the character, confidence, and future of their children.
Through their guidance, protection, and dedication, fathers help build strong families and stronger communities.”

Extending the message beyond biological fathers, the First Lady also recognised men who serve in fatherly roles in various capacities.
“Today, we honour all fathers, father-figures, role models, and mentors who show up each day, working to provide for their families,” she declared.
She concluded with prayers for fathers nationwide, wishing them continued strength and wisdom. “May you continue to be a source of wisdom, strength, and inspiration to your families. Happy Father’s Day.”
