In a bold move to redefine its identity and expand its reach, First News has officially rebranded as First Daily. The announcement was made on Monday, November 10, 2025, during the media organization’s fifth anniversary celebration held at the Shehu Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
The publisher and Chief Executive Officer of First Media Network Limited, Dr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said the decision marks a strategic step toward establishing a distinct and enduring identity in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
“The rebranding to First Daily is driven by the need to create a unique and unmistakable presence, especially amid the proliferation of similarly named news platforms,” Dr. Iworiso-Markson stated in his welcome address.
He highlighted that over the past five years, First News has earned the confidence and trust of a wide readership across Nigeria and beyond, through its commitment to factual, authentic, and credible journalism. The rebrand, he said, reflects both the publication’s growth and its vision for deeper engagement and greater editorial excellence.
The unveiling of First Daily coincided with the organization’s Annual Lecture Series and Fifth Anniversary Celebration, described as a milestone event signaling a new phase of innovation, expanded coverage, and audience interaction.

He extended appreciation to loyal readers, partners, and stakeholders for their continued support, inviting the general public to join in celebrating the significant milestone.
The rebrand retains the publication’s familiar blue-themed logo, now bearing the First Daily name and tagline: “For a free and enlightened world.”
As First Daily embarks on its next chapter, the publication reaffirmed its commitment to timely, sustainable accurate, and responsible journalism across diverse sectors including politics, business, health, education, and entertainment.
