“Forgive If I Have Sinned” – Tinubu Calls For Unity As Fasting Begins

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to embrace unity, peace, and moral renewal as Muslims commence the Ramadan fast, emphasising forgiveness and compassion as guiding principles of the holy month.

Speaking at a Ramadan Tafsir held at the State House Mosque in Abuja on Wednesday, the President described Ramadan as a sacred period for deep spiritual reflection and a return to values that strengthen families and the nation at large.

“As we begin this Ramadan, we are reminded of its core teachings — to do good, to show love, to strengthen our faith, and to forgive. If I have sinned, I ask Nigerians to forgive me,” Tinubu said.

He noted that the season should inspire citizens to promote harmony, extend kindness to one another, and commit to actions that advance national development.

In his remarks, the Chief Imam of the State House Mosque, Abdulwahid Suleiman, expressed gratitude to Allah for granting Muslims the opportunity to witness another Ramadan.

He commended the President’s leadership and offered prayers for wisdom, strength, and good health for Tinubu and his administration, while seeking peace, stability, and prosperity for the nation.
