Frank Edoho Slams Daniel Regha over Adekunle Gold’s Ballon d’Or Outfit

Television host Frank Edoho has publicly responded to social media commentator Daniel Regha’s criticism of Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold’s attire at the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony.

Regha had suggested that Adekunle Gold missed an opportunity to showcase Nigerian or African culture on the global stage by not wearing a culturally inspired outfit.

In response, Edoho took to social media to mock Regha’s own fashion choices.

Edoho cited a past event in which Regha had the opportunity to represent Nigeria but, according to Edoho, failed to do so effectively, adding that he appeared

“like a lost Eskimo starring in a duvet advert from IKEA.”

The tweet quickly went viral, sparking debates across social media about the balance between personal style and cultural representation.

While some users supported Regha’s call for African cultural promotion, others criticized him for what they viewed as inconsistency given his own fashion history.

As of now, neither Adekunle Gold nor Daniel Regha has publicly responded to Edoho’s remarks.

The exchange highlights ongoing discussions within Nigerian entertainment circles about how artists and public figures should present African heritage at international events.
