The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has begun steps to prosecute popular TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, following a road crash linked to distracted driving in Lagos on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
The Corps Marshal of the FRSC described the conduct that led to the crash as reckless and unlawful, stressing that engaging in livestreaming or other distracting activities while driving endangers lives and violates traffic regulations.
The FRSC confirmed that the crash, which reportedly occurred during a live video stream, serves as a reminder that fame does not exempt anyone from the law.
On Monday, December 15, 2025, the Corps Marshal directed the Lagos State Sector Commander of the FRSC to begin prosecution processes against Peller, citing possible offences including reckless driving, use of phone while driving, and distracted driving under existing traffic laws.

He urged professional bodies within the entertainment industry, including influencer networks and content creator communities, to promote responsible road behaviour.
He also warned that the FRSC will not hesitate to apply the full weight of the law against any individual, celebrity or otherwise, found engaging in dangerous driving practices.
The statement highlighted that road safety remains a shared responsibility and emphasised that no social media content or online trend is worth a human life.
