The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has elected a 36-member State Executive Committee, with the new leadership pledging loyalty to the party and a commitment to strengthening its grassroots structure ahead of future elections.
Speaking shortly after their affirmation at the party’s state congress held on Tuesday in Gombe, the newly elected State Chairman, Mohammed Ndus, described the exercise as a significant moment in the party’s political journey in the state.
“This congress is historic and marks a major milestone in the political life of our great party in Gombe State,” Ndus said.
Ndus, a retired civil servant who recently completed 36 years in service, expressed appreciation to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for what he termed visionary leadership and sustained efforts in building a formidable party structure.
He said the socio-economic growth and infrastructural development recorded under the Yahaya administration had boosted public confidence in the APC, assuring members that the new executive would operate with unity and inclusiveness to secure victories at all levels in future elections.
Earlier, Chairman of the Gombe State APC Congress Committee, Danjuma Dabo, presented the executives for affirmation, noting that all aspirants were screened by the party’s national screening committee without any petitions or appeals.

According to Dabo, the process from screening to affirmation was seamless and in compliance with party guidelines which provide for consensus-based affirmation. He commended Governor Yahaya and party stakeholders for ensuring a hitch-free exercise.
Also speaking, the Member representing Akko Federal Constituency and Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Usman Kumo, lauded the governor’s leadership and developmental strides, citing the establishment of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park as evidence of transformative governance.
Kumo further described the relationship between Governor Yahaya and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as beneficial to the development of Gombe State. He also moved a motion adopting President Tinubu as the sole APC presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
In his valedictory remarks, the outgoing State Chairman, Nitte Amangal, thanked the governor and party stakeholders for their support during his tenure, attributing the party’s unity and electoral successes in the state to collective efforts.
The congress concluded with the affirmation of the new executive members and renewed assurances to consolidate the APC’s dominance in Gombe State.
