Rivers Assembly Asks Commissioner-Nominees To Submit Credentials Ahead Of Screening 

The Rivers State House of Assembly has asked individuals nominated for appointment as commissioners and members of the State Executive Council to submit their credentials ahead of the screening process.

The move comes after Governor Siminalayi Fubara dissolved the existing State Executive Council.

In a Government Special Announcement issued on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the Assembly directed the nominees to provide the necessary documents required for their confirmation.

The statement explained that each nominee must submit forty copies of their curriculum vitae, along with photocopies of their academic and professional certificates and proof of tax compliance.

All documents are to be submitted to the Office of the Clerk at the Rivers State House of Assembly Quarters in Port Harcourt.

The notice was signed by the Clerk of the House, Emeka Amadi.

Providing the documents is a mandatory step before the Assembly proceeds with the screening and confirmation of the nominees.

Those listed in the announcement include Professor Datonye Alasia, Mr Tonye Bellgam, Professor Temple Nwofor, Dr Peters Nwagor, Mrs Charity Deemua, Tamuno Williams, Esq., Mr Lekue Kenneth, Otonye TKD Amachree, Esq., and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.
