Gov Dikko Hails Nigerian Army for Tackling Security Threats

Katsina State Governor, Mallam Umar Dikko Radda, has praised the Nigerian Army for its steadfast efforts in addressing security challenges across the country.

In a statement released by Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, the Governor gave the commendation on the 8th of October, 2025, during a visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, at the Army Headquarters.

Governor Radda expressed satisfaction with the dedication of soldiers tackling insecurity in Katsina State. He highlighted that the progress recorded so far in restoring peace was a direct result of the troops’ resilience and selfless service.

He also lauded the continuous support provided by the COAS to personnel deployed within the state. The Governor noted that General Oluyede’s earlier visit to Katsina had further inspired the troops and boosted their morale for better performance.

Radda reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Army to establish an additional military unit in the state to strengthen security operations.

He also commended the strong cooperation between the Katsina Watch Corps and the Nigerian Army, describing it as a productive partnership essential for overcoming security threats.

In response, the COAS thanked the Governor for his visit and pledged that the Nigerian Army would keep making the sacrifices needed to safeguard not only Katsina State but the nation at large.

General Oluyede appreciated the people and government of Katsina State for their continued support to the Army and urged them to maintain the collaboration. He restated the Army’s firm commitment to protecting law-abiding citizens and ensuring the safety of all communities.
