Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has named Dr. Anieti Udofia, Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, as the Commissioner of the Year 2025 in recognition of his exemplary performance and leadership.
The announcement was made on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Governor’s country home.
Governor Eno cited Dr. Udofia’s outstanding role in the successful organisation of Christmas Unplugged 2025 as a key factor in the decision.
In appreciation, Governor Eno presented Dr. Udofia with ₦20 million and approved an additional ₦100 million for the Christmas Unplugged Committee and Team to support future events.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Eno praised the Commissioner and his team for their dedication, commitment, and hard work, which he said were instrumental in delivering a memorable festive season for residents.
The Governor added that a formal award would be presented to Dr. Udofia at a future State Executive Council meeting, with the date yet to be announced.
