Governor Aminu Bello Radda of Katsina State has approved ₦20 million for the maintenance and rehabilitation of public graveyards across the state.
The allocation, announced on Friday, August 29, 2025, is aimed at improving hygiene, security, and general upkeep of cemeteries in both urban and rural communities.
Governor Radda noted that well-maintained graveyards are essential not only for public health but also for respecting cultural and religious traditions.
The governor directed local government authorities and community leaders to ensure the funds are properly utilised for clearing overgrown vegetation, repairing fences, and providing basic infrastructure such as walkways and drainage systems.
