Katsina State Governor and North-West Governors’ Forum Chairman, Malam Dikko Radda, has conveyed heartfelt sorrow over the recent mosque attack in Maiduguri, Borno State, which claimed multiple lives and left dozens injured.
In a statement issued on Saturday, December 27, 2025, through his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Governor Radda described the assault as a “cruel and senseless act against innocent citizens” and stressed that places of worship must never be subjected to violence.
He extended condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the swift recovery of those wounded.
The governor also called on communities to remain vigilant in light of continuing insecurity in the northeast and urged security agencies to enhance protection at worship centres, particularly during festive seasons.

Authorities confirmed that fragments of a suspected suicide vest were recovered at the scene, and investigations into the attack are ongoing.
Security forces have increased patrols in the area as part of broader efforts to prevent further attacks.
Governor Radda reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting affected families and condemned all acts of terrorism targeting civilians, emphasizing that such violence will not be tolerated.
