Suspected gunmen have attacked Wereng village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing one person and injuring two others.
According to intelligence Sources quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola makama, on Tuesday, the attack occurred on Monday night.
It was gathered that the assailants storm the community and open fire indiscriminately, causing residents to flee for safety.
Reports also revealed that the victim, identified as Joshua Monday, died on the spot while two others sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to the General Hospital in Riyom for treatment.

however, troops of the Nigerian Army and other security operatives arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to restore order and prevent further violence.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital morgue, while investigations have commenced to identify and track down those behind the attack.
The latest assault adds to a series of violent incidents in parts of Plateau State, where communities have continued to experience recurrent attacks despite intensified security efforts.
