Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has criticised Mohamed Salah for publicly expressing frustrations during what he described as a difficult moment for Liverpool, insisting the Egyptian should have handled the situation differently.
Speaking in a strongly worded commentary, Henry said players owe their clubs loyalty and discretion, especially during turbulent periods.
“When you play for a club, you must protect it at all costs. No matter what’s happening internally, you protect the club — your teammates, the manager, the staff,” Henry said.
He acknowledged that players can experience disagreements or frustration but stressed that such issues must remain in-house.
“You can be angry, frustrated, disagree… but you don’t air dirty laundry in public, especially when the club is going through difficult moments,” he added.

Henry said the appropriate approach is to resolve issues privately before deciding to go public or seek an exit.
“Instead, you wait, you sort things out internally, and then, if you want to leave or speak your mind, you do it at the right time,” he said.
Salah has been under scrutiny recently as Liverpool navigate internal challenges under new manager Arne Slot, with the forward’s public comments drawing mixed reactions from fans and pundits.
