Guinness World Record holder and celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has carried out a trial run in preparation for her upcoming attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
A video circulating online shows Baci stirring a test batch of the popular West African delicacy in a massive, specially constructed pot designed for the record-breaking feat.
First Daily had earlier reported that the official event is scheduled for September 12, 2025, at Muri Okunola Park in Lagos.
Baci is set to make the official attempt on September 12, 2025, during the Gino World Jollof Festival, an event celebrating West African food, music, and culture.

Attendance will be free, with live performances planned to mark the occasion.
Baci, who gained international fame after her 2023 Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, described the project as more than a record attempt.
In a recent Instagram post, she wrote, “Six metres wide. Six metres tall. On September 12, we make history together. Because what is jollof without you to share it with?”
