Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has publicly apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman, leader of Omega Fire Ministries, for defaming him.
In her apology, Abubakar confessed to spreading false information that caused the clergyman emotional distress on social media.
The tension between Abubakar and Suleman dates back to 2022, when the actress became seriously ill following a conflict with him.
During her illness, her family took to social media to demand that Suleman stay away from her.
Speculations arose, with many suggesting that Abubakar was suffering from an autoimmune disease, a claim she denied by releasing her medical records.
In a formal letter of apology addressed to Apostle Suleman, Abubakar expressed remorse for her actions and the damage caused to his reputation, hoping her gesture would help mend the rift.
”I am writing to you today to acknowledge the falsehoods I made against you on social media and to offer my sincerest apologies.
“After deep reflections, and for my conscience to be in accord with God, I have realized the depth of the harm, pains and distress caused by my lies.
“I admit that I made false allegations against you and also regret my action and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr Lizzy Suleman, your family and the leaders of the Omega Fire Ministry.
“With this letter, I humbly ask for forgiveness, recognising that my apology cannot undo the harm, pain and distress I caused and I ask you to find a place in your heart to forgive me as I was not thinking right then.
“I’m truly sorry for all the hurts and distress I caused you, your family and ministry.”
‘Sir, you have done a lot for humanity, please, extend your hands of forgiveness toward me.
“Once again, Sir, I am truly sorry for all the hurts and distress I caused you, your family, and your ministry.
“Thank you very much and may the Heavens calm your heart. God bless you, Sir,” the letter reads.
