Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has sent a rousing message of support to the Super Eagles as they prepare to face Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semifinals.
In a statement posted on his official X account on Wednesday, Idris said the entire nation stands firmly behind the team, praising their discipline, courage and belief throughout the tournament.
“Their journey so far has been inspiring,” the minister said, noting that the Super Eagles’ performances have once again reminded Nigerians why the national team remains one of Africa’s most respected football sides.
He recalled Nigeria’s rich AFCON history, pointing to past triumphs and hard-fought victories against formidable opponents as evidence of the team’s pedigree. According to him, those successes were built on teamwork, confidence and an unyielding fighting spirit—qualities he said the current squad has clearly displayed.
Idris urged the players to step onto the pitch with confidence, unity and hunger, stressing that they carry the hopes of millions of Nigerians who draw strength and pride from their performances.
