Ikoyi Murder: Lagos Police Declare Two Men Wanted

The Lagos State Police Command has declared two men wanted over an alleged conspiracy and murder in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The suspects are Folawiyo Balogun Alagbado, 32, and Ajibola Obateru, 33, both with last known addresses in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The command announced their wanted status in separate bulletins issued on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Police alleged that the men, alongside others, attacked a woman, killed her and moved her body to an undisclosed location. Her personal belongings were also allegedly taken.

The investigation is linked to the disappearance of 26-year-old Chukwunyere Esther Chinaza, who was last seen on June 22, 2026, around the Shoreline area of Banana Island, Ikoyi.

Chinaza, an Imo State indigene who had reportedly returned from Dubai, was subsequently reported missing. However, police have not publicly confirmed the recovery of her remains or conclusively established her death.

Obateru was described as a 33-year-old Yoruba male, about 5.9 feet tall and thinly built, with an oval face, long nose, small mouth, thin lips, black eyes, fair complexion, pointed chin, thick black hair and a high forehead.

Alagbado was described as a 32-year-old Yoruba male of average height, with an oval face, wide nose, long-wide mouth, medium lips, dark complexion and a round chin.

The case is being investigated by the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, under reference CR: 3000/LSX/D18/VOL. 1/68.

The command urged anyone with information on the suspects’ whereabouts to contact the nearest police station, the Office of the Commissioner of Police, SCID, Panti-Yaba, or 08038843816.

It cautioned the public against confronting the suspects and urged anyone who spots either man to immediately alert the police.

The allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial determination.
