The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its accreditation process for journalists and media outlets that want to report on the Anambra State governorship poll.
Rose Oriaran-Anthony, Secretary to the Commission, confirmed this in a statement issued on Monday, the 1st of September, 2025, she also reminded the public that the election will take place on Saturday, the 8th of November, 2025.
According to the statement, “The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced online accreditation for journalists and media organisations intending to cover the Anambra State governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday, 8th November, 2025.”
Media houses planning to assign reporters or crew for coverage must complete their applications via the official INEC accreditation portal: https://imap.inecnigeria.org.
The portal opens from Monday, September 1, 2025, and will close on Friday, October 24, 2025.

The statement further stressed that, “Late submission shall not be entertained as the portal will automatically shut down at 12:00 am (midnight) on Friday, 24th October, 2025. For further enquiries, please contact: 07088844564 & 08032861058.”
