The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of 18 presidential candidates and their running mates for the 2027 general elections.
The list, signed by INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony, was released in Abuja on Saturday, September 12, 2026, ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will seek re-election against former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Anambra State Governor Peter Gregory Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Also on the ballot are Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC), Oyo State Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Other candidates are Sunday Chibuzo Okereke (LP), Sandy Ojang Onor (PDP), Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje (AA), Aliyu Abbas-Bin (ADP), Kabiru Yusuf (APP), Sunday Adenuga (BP), Moses Olusoji Adebisi (DLA), Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori (NDP), Nkem Esther Okereke (NRM), Peter Ada Agada (YPP) and Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu (ZLP).

The field comprises 16 men and two women. Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori and Nkem Esther Okereke are the only female presidential candidates.
The 18 running mates include four women: Peace Egobia Ofordile (APP), Nafisat Usaku Abubakar (DLA), Hajja Bintu Konto (LP) and Patience Ndidi Key (YPP).

INEC also released the final candidate lists for the Senate and House of Representatives.
The 2027 race brings Tinubu, Atiku and Obi back into the presidential contest after they finished first, second and third respectively in the 2023 election. Tinubu won that poll on the APC platform, with Atiku then representing the PDP and Obi the Labour Party.
The political configuration has since shifted, with Atiku now flying the ADC flag and Obi the NDC ticket.
INEC has fixed January 16, 2027, for the presidential and National Assembly elections, while the governorship and State Houses of Assembly polls will hold on February 6, 2027.
