Ngeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi on Monday, September 7, attended the inauguration of the Abuja campaign office of Seyi Makinde, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate.
The campaign office was inaugurated in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as opposition politicians continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general election.
The event was attended by prominent opposition figures, including Bauchi State Governor and APM National Leader, Bala Mohammed.
Addressing supporters at the ceremony, Mohammed cautioned Nigerians against dismissing the APM and its presidential candidate ahead of the election.
“Whoever disregards us is at his own peril, we are here to reset Nigeria and we are bringing in one of the best human capitals that Nigeria has ever produced at the sub-national and national level, that is Makinde,” he said.

Footage from the event showed Obi seated beside Mohammed during the inauguration.
Obi’s appearance at the event comes amid continuing efforts by opposition politicians and parties to build a stronger challenge to President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of 2027.
On April 25, opposition political parties and their prominent figures had gathered in Ibadan, Oyo State, where they made what appeared to be one of their strongest commitments yet to work together ahead of the 2027 general election.
The meeting focused on the possibility of the opposition uniting behind a single presidential candidate to challenge Tinubu in the forthcoming election.
The latest development further highlights the fluid nature of opposition politics as politicians and parties explore alliances, new platforms and possible strategies for mounting a credible challenge to the ruling party in 2027.
