Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the immediate release of two buses to Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan to boost the club’s operations and activities.
The buses, comprising a 32-seater and an 18-seater, were approved following the club’s impressive win over Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie.
The match was played at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, disclosed the development in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan on Sunday.
“The approval underscores the state government’s commitment to supporting the Oluyole Warriors as they represent Oyo State on the continental stage”, the statement partly read.

Shooting Stars’ campaign in the ongoing continental competition is particularly significant as it represents the club’s first appearance in a continental tournament in 27 years.
According to the statement, Makinde assured the club’s supporters that his administration would continue to provide the necessary backing to help the team pursue continental success.
The commissioner said the state government’s priority was not only to maintain the team’s recent momentum but also to help revive the fortunes of the “Darling Club of Oyo State.”
He called on the players, technical crew and management to remain focused and dedicated to their campaign, while assuring them of the state government’s continued support.
