Insecurity: Buhari should address issues raised by southern govs –Babatope

Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Ebenezer Babatope has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly address the citizens over various challenges facing the country.

The former minister made the call during a radio programme monitored by our correspondent.

“The President should come out and address issues which the southern governors have put forward”, Babatope said.

He also commended the southern governors over their meeting where open grazing was banned in the region.

According to the former minister, “It is going to work if we work towards it for the unity of the country and not for any geopolitical aspirations.

“The decisions of the southern governors to meet is good enough and the resolutions arrived at in Asaba on Tuesday should be followed up with trust and keenness.

“We should not allow what the southern governors have started to slip away”, he warned.

Babatope, however, demanded for creation of state police and review of revenue allocation formula as means of ensuring justice and fair play in the country.
