Insecurity: ‘I Won’t Be Forced Out,’ Tinubu Vows To Seek Re-Election

President Bola Tinubu has declared that worsening insecurity across parts of the country will not force him out of office, reaffirming his determination to remain in power and seek re-election.

In a video trending on Wednesday, April 29, Tinubu while receiving Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and other stakeholders, dismissed suggestions that security challenges could weaken his political standing, instead framing such narratives as part of a broader agenda against his administration.

“You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me,” Tinubu said.

He stressed that he remains undeterred by criticism, projecting confidence in his political resilience and future ambitions.

“I’m a very stubborn politician. I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term,” he said.

Tinubu’s remarks come at a time when concerns over security have intensified, with reports of attacks, kidnappings, and killings across several regions prompting calls for stronger government intervention.

Opposition voices and civil society groups have continued to question the effectiveness of the administration’s response, urging more decisive action to address the insecurity crisis.

Despite the pressure, the President has maintained that his government is taking necessary steps to support security agencies and restore stability nationwide.

Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, is expected to complete his first term in 2027, when he is now poised to seek another mandate from Nigerian voters.
