The Kogi State Government says it is preparing to make a major revelation within the next 24 hours, promising that the disclosure will “shake the country” amid rising insecurity across the state.
Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Tuesday, December 16.
He said the announcement would detail recent breakthroughs by Governor Usman Ododo’s administration in curbing criminal activity.
“In the next 24 hours, a revelation that will shake this country will come. We are closing in, and I am very sure that within the next 24 hours, we are going to address the nation, and they will see the great effort of His Excellency in ensuring security in Kogi State and Nigeria,” Fanwo stated.
The comment comes on the heels of a wave of attacks across the state, including incidents at Christian worship centers.
In Yagba West Local Government Area, gunmen invaded a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejigba, kidnapping the pastor and his wife.
Similarly, armed men stormed the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government, killing one worshipper and abducting several others.
Fanwo said the government has been working nonstop to rescue the victims.

He also explained that Kogi’s geographic position, bordering ten states, including the Federal Capital Territory, makes it vulnerable, as fleeing criminals from neighbouring Niger and Kwara States often slip into the area.
“However, we are cutting their operations, cutting off their logistics and movement around the state. It has been very difficult for them,” he said.
The commissioner stressed that despite its complex security challenges, Kogi remains under control thanks to Governor Ododo’s “robust and proactive” approach to policing.
“If not for the robust security architecture, Kogi would have been in a mess by now, but it is still very much under control,” he said.
Fanwo further revealed that the government had foiled several planned attacks through effective intelligence gathering and coordination with security agencies, including the army, police, and Department of State Services.
“We have been able to avert a lot of these incidents in several local government areas. I will not mention the locations for security reasons. But for every incident that occurred, we have averted about 30,” Fanwo added.
He assured that law enforcement agencies were tracking down the perpetrators hiding in forested parts of the state, insisting that Kogi would never be a safe haven for criminals.
The commissioner concluded by reaffirming the government’s resolve to keep every resident safe, saying the forthcoming revelation would highlight the extent of the administration’s commitment to protecting lives and restoring peace.
