Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Kwara State, warning that there will be no safe haven for criminals.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Wednesday, October 1, the governor made the remarks after a late-night security council meeting in Ilorin.
AbdulRazaq disclosed that he had earlier briefed President Bola Tinubu on the recent attack in Oke Ode, during which he repeated his call for more federal troops to help raid bandits’ hideouts.
“The Army Headquarters has since relocated the General Officer Commanding, GOC, of the 2nd Division to Ilorin as part of the renewed efforts to strengthen security operations in the state,” he said.

The governor explained that security agencies had already begun to step up operations.
“On Monday night, combined forces of the Army, DSS, and Police launched an offensive around Baba Sango, along the Kwara–Kogi border, neutralising about 15 armed bandits,” he stated.
“The same operation continued on Tuesday. And yesterday night, I presided over the State Security Council meeting at Ahmadu Bello House, Ilorin, to integrate state and federal assets into a single strategy for both Kwara North and South,” he added.
AbdulRazaq assured residents that the government was leaving no stone unturned in ensuring peace and safety across the state.
