Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, widely known as Jandor, has signalled his interest in the 2027 Lagos State governorship race under the banner of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
This indication followed the release of a campaign flyer he shared on Wednesday, the 21st of January, 2026, boldly inscribed, “Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran Jandor for Governor, Lagos State 2027.”
On the same day, Jandor took to Facebook to unveil his campaign website, describing the move as a key step in his preparations for the APC governorship primaries.
“I am excited to announce the official launch of www……the digital heartbeat of our journey towards the 2027 Lagos State APC Governorship Primaries,” he wrote.
He explained that the platform was designed to go beyond conventional campaigning, adding, “This isn’t just a website; it’s an open civic space. As I seek the nomination of our party, I’m opening the doors for every Lagosian to interrogate our ideas, contribute to our vision, and help shape the policy agenda for a more prosperous state.”
Addressing the likelihood of multiple aspirants within the party, Jandor noted that his priority remained engagement with party leaders, members, and the people of Lagos.
“While I acknowledge there may be other qualified aspirants within our party, who are yet to personally express their ambition, my focus remains on the leadership and members of the party as well as the people of Lagos,” he stated.

Emphasising collective participation, he urged residents to get involved, saying, “Real change is a shared responsibility. Visit the site today to see our roadmap for an inclusive Lagos and join the conversation. Let’s build the Lagos we all deserve.”
Jandor was the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, flagbearer in the 2023 Lagos governorship election, with Nollywood star Funke Akindele as his running mate. He, however, finished third in the contest, behind candidates of the APC and the Labour Party.
In March, Jandor formally rejoined the APC after dumping the PDP, attributing his exit to alleged indiscipline and widespread anti-party activities within the opposition party.
His return to the ruling party sparked controversy, as the Lagos PDP Deputy Chairman, Tai Benedict, accused him of being an APC plant deployed to weaken the opposition.
