A civilian aircraft crashed near the eastern French town of Tomblaine on Sunday, leaving all 11 people on board dead, according to local authorities.
Following the incident, police called on residents and motorists to “strictly avoid” the area surrounding the airport in Tomblaine as emergency responders carried out operations.
Local media reported that the aircraft was operated by a parachuting school and had been transporting a group on a skydiving excursion when it went down.

The prefecture confirmed that those killed included the pilot, five student skydivers, and five instructors, with no survivors reported.
The French Interior Ministry also announced that the Interior Minister was travelling to the crash site.
