JUST IN: Gunmen Abduct Students, Kill Teacher During NECO Exam In Borno

Several students sitting the National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) have reportedly been abducted after gunmen attacked Government Day Secondary School in Lassa town, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

The attackers struck the school on Monday morning while the examination was in progress, causing panic among students and staff.

During the attack, one teacher was reportedly killed, while another sustained injuries.

The exact number of students taken away by the gunmen has yet to be confirmed.

The spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, Nahum Daso, confirmed the incident and disclosed that some students remain unaccounted for.

Security agencies have yet to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the attack or the ongoing efforts to rescue the abducted victims.
