Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Monday attacked Sabon Gyero community in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing Abdullahi Lawal, also known as “Kurma,” and abducting seven others.
The attackers stormed the community in the early hours, abducting three women and four children from a residence. They also raided a phone charging centre, taking several mobile phones and laptops.
Lawal, who was deaf and non-verbal, sustained a gunshot wound to the head and died before reaching a hospital. He was later buried in the community according to Islamic rites.

Commandant of the Joint Task Force, Uwaisu Yunusa, said operatives responded after hearing gunshots but the attackers had fled before their arrival.
The Nigeria Police Force had not issued a statement on the incident as of Monday evening.
