Governor Uba Sani has affirmed that the planned $200 million Mega Poultry Project in Kaduna State is expected to generate over USD $450 million annually and create more than 350,000 direct and indirect jobs.
He highlighted that the initiative will enhance food security, empower smallholder farmers, and establish Kaduna State as a leading hub for modern agribusiness across Africa.
Governor Sani made the remarks during a meeting with the Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhar Maiha, on Thursday, the 15th of January 2026, stating that the session was aimed at coordinating federal and state efforts ahead of the project’s groundbreaking ceremony.
The governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for selecting Kaduna State to spearhead the initiative, emphasizing the significance of the project for the state’s economy and agricultural sector.
It is noteworthy that Governor Sani visited China on December 7, 2025, following an invitation from the Government of the People’s Republic of China, where he toured CP Foods Layers and Eggs (Beijing) Ltd.

During the visit, he observed every stage of the company’s operations from production and processing to packaging and distribution, each reflecting a level of precision that elevates agriculture into a sophisticated and exacting craft.
Commenting on the experience, Governor Sani said the visit, which involved a facility producing nearly three million eggs daily, marked “a defining stride toward concluding our landmark USD $200 million poultry project in Kaduna State.”
He added, “In partnership with our Chinese counterparts, we are shaping an initiative that promises far more than increased output. It will deepen food security, broaden our agro-industrial base, catalyse durable employment, and position Kaduna as a continental exemplar of technologically empowered agribusiness.”
