Kaduna Police Arrest 19 Suspects, Recover ₦78m Stolen Property, 400 Rustled Cattle

The Kaduna State Police Command says it has intensified its crackdown on criminal activities across the state, recording the arrest of 19 suspects, the neutralisation of notorious kidnappers and the recovery of stolen property worth tens of millions of naira over the past two weeks.

Briefing journalists at the Command Headquarters in Kaduna on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, said the operations were part of sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks responsible for kidnapping, armed robbery, illegal arms trafficking and other violent crimes.

According to the police chief, operatives arrested 16 suspected kidnappers and three suspected gunrunners during coordinated intelligence-led operations carried out across different parts of the state.

Muhammad disclosed that security personnel also neutralised notorious kidnappers during separate encounters, describing the development as a major breakthrough in the fight against violent crime.

The command recovered 190 stolen solar inverters estimated to be worth about ₦69 million, alongside 10 lithium batteries valued at approximately ₦9 million.

Other items recovered during the operations included 10 firearms of various calibres, 170 counterfeit United States dollar notes, 83 packs of hard drugs, 32 stolen mobile phones, two plasma television sets and a stolen Toyota Sienna vehicle.

The police also rescued more than 400 rustled cattle, dealing what the command described as another significant blow to criminal groups involved in livestock theft.

Muhammad said the successes reflected the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property through proactive policing, intelligence gathering and coordinated security operations.

He assured residents that the police would sustain the ongoing offensive against criminal elements and urged members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to support security agencies in maintaining peace across the state.
