This The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has received three operational vehicles from the Kano State Government to enhance its capacity in combating drug abuse and trafficking across the state.
The donation was confirmed in a statement by the Kano Strategic Command Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics Sadiq Maigatari, and made available to journalists on Friday.
According to the statement, the vehicles were officially handed over on Thursday, April 9, 2026, to the State Commander, Dahiru Lawal, by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim, on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Secretary to the State Government described the donation as a strategic move aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of the NDLEA in its ongoing campaign against substance abuse and related criminal activities.
He stressed that drug abuse continues to fuel insecurity and social vices, adding that sustained collaboration between government and security agencies remains critical to safeguarding communities in Kano State.

In his response, Commander Lawal expressed appreciation to the state government, assuring that the vehicles would be deployed effectively to support enforcement operations across the state.
He noted that the additional logistics support would help intensify the dismantling of drug trafficking networks and the closure of identified drug joints operating within Kano.
Lawal further commended the strong working relationship between the agency and the state government, describing it as a key factor behind recent operational successes.
The NDLEA also noted that the donation comes shortly after gains recorded under “Operation Ramadan Mubarak,” during which over 200 suspects were arrested and more than 20 drug joints were shut down across the state.
