Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw has called for urgent justice after a young woman, who graduated less than a week ago, was left critically injured in an accident involving a truck allegedly linked to the Dangote Group in Auchi, Edo State.
Henshaw, in a post shared via her X (formerly Twitter) account yesterday, alleged that the truck driver failed to stop after hitting the victim. According to her account, the driver was pursued by a lecturer who witnessed the incident, but the vehicle’s license plate had been removed before police impounded it.
The actress further claimed that police officers have refused to grant the victim’s family and fellow students access to her. The victim has reportedly undergone an amputation of one leg, with the other leg at risk of being amputated due to the severity of her injuries. She is said to be in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital.
The injured woman is the younger sister of Nigerian reality TV star Phyna. Henshaw’s post tagged the Nigeria Police Force and Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, demanding that the ownership of the truck be made public and that those responsible face the full weight of the law.
