Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo, popularly known as Killaboi, has been extradited to Nigeria from Doha, Qatar, to face trial for the alleged murder of his 21-year-old girlfriend, Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe.

The extradition, which took place in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025, marks a significant breakthrough nearly two years after Killaboi went on the run.

Augusta, a first-class student of Lead City University, was found dead on July 13, 2023, in Killaboi’s residence in Ajah, Lagos. Shortly after the incident, he fled the country and later posted a video online claiming responsibility — a move authorities now describe as a ploy to derail investigations.

An INTERPOL Red Notice was issued for his arrest in October 2023. Though apprehended in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on October 20 under the alias Kanu Princeton Samuel, he escaped during a prison break the following month. Killaboi then eluded capture while moving across West Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East, using multiple forged identities.

He was eventually tracked to Doha, Qatar, in January 2025, where he had been living under the false identity Toure Abdoulaye with a fake Guinean passport.

Through coordinated biometric verification and cooperation between INTERPOL NCB Abuja and INTERPOL NCB Doha, his true identity was confirmed. He was arrested in February, and following legal proceedings, extradited to Nigeria in April.

The extradition was initiated after Augusta’s family, through their legal team, submitted a petition in September 2024. The process was facilitated by collaboration between Nigerian authorities, INTERPOL, the Ministry of Justice, and Qatari judicial officials.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended all international partners involved and reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to delivering justice.

Killaboi will now stand trial in Nigeria for the murder of Augusta Onuwabhagbe.
